Campaigners win fight to stop 90,000 tonnes of soil being dumped in Emley
The "horrendous" prospect of hundreds of HGV deliveries of soil to restore derelict land on a Huddersfield farm has led councillors in Kirklees to refuse the plan.
Concerns over heavy traffic using a rural road, along with the "unacceptable" and "excessive" import of earth to the site, off Liley Lane at Grange Moor , prompted the decision following concerns from council planning chiefs. (Read more…)
